Solar Geysers start at R16,000 for a 100L option, and ranges up to R50,000 (or so) for a top quality split pumped option.
What is the basic starting price for a Grid Tie solution ?
Solar grid tie systems can start for a little as R20,000. A popular size consists of 20 panels and a 5kW inverter, which costs from R100,000.
What solar geyser or water heating solutions are there available through JM Solar?
There are evacuated tube technology options, direct and indirect systems, flat plat collector technology (which I favour). I am currently running specials on Bosch Solar Geysers - ranging from R20,000 (200L) to R30,000 (300L) for basic solutions. PV Solutions (photovoltaic) options are also very wide ranging, and can start from around R50,000 and range up to almost anything.

How do I protect my solar panels from hail?
Solar panels are SABS tested to withstand hail. Panels are made from toughened glass.
How long can my solar panels last?
Solar panels (PV) have a 10 year guarantee and a 25 year linear performance warranty depending on type. Some new panels are offering a performance warranty up to 30 years
Where can I store my batteries for the battery bank?
The site chosen will need to be suitable. i.e. safe, cool and near to the inverters.
How long does it take to install Solar panels and the photovoltaic system?
Installation of solar solutions in the Gauteng area will take between 1 - 4 days depending on the complexity of the system
How much energy can I generate using solar power
As much as is required - but systems can range from small to VERY large‼!
How much money can I expect to save?
In general, the bigger the system the more you will save over the life of the system. Many factors come into play here. Solar energy is free, so once the technology is paid up, the energy becomes completely free.
